Karamba Security Supervised Electreon’s ISO/SAE 21434 Certification Process
Karamba Security’s solutions accelerate compliance for automotive cybersecurity standards
HOD HASHARON, Israel, March 5, 2025 – Karamba Security, a global leader in product cybersecurity, is proud to announce that Electreon, a pioneer in wireless electric road technology, has achieved compliance with the ISO/SAE 21434 standard for automotive cybersecurity. This milestone underscores Electreon’s commitment to integrating advanced security measures into its cutting-edge transportation infrastructure.
The ISO/SAE 21434 standard provides a comprehensive framework for managing cybersecurity risks across the entire vehicle lifecycle. By leveraging Karamba Security’s expertise and state-of-the-art solutions, Electreon navigated the compliance process faster than planned and underbudget.
Electreon’s innovative end-to-end wireless charging solution includes underground infrastructure, vehicle-side technology, and advanced management software. These technologies enable electric fleets to charge seamlessly while in operation, reducing battery dependency and enhancing efficiency. Ensuring cybersecurity resilience across these interconnected components is a critical priority for Electreon.
Karamba Security’s Role in Electreon’s Compliance Journey
Karamba Security played a pivotal role in Electreon’s compliance by providing technical leadership in threat modeling, cybersecurity risk assessment (TARA), and secure development processes. One of the key solutions utilized was Karamba’s VCode binary analysis tool, which enables robust vulnerability detection and compliance documentation.
- VCode performs deep binary analysis without requiring access to source code, identifying native and third-party components while cross-referencing industry-standard vulnerability databases such as NVD and CNVD.
- The tool generates a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), ensuring full transparency into software components and continuous cybersecurity monitoring.
- VCode enables automotive manufacturers and suppliers to proactively address newly identified risks, with automated alerts and scheduled reports documenting ongoing cybersecurity activities.
Karamba Security also guided Electreon through the four key stages of compliance:
- Gap Analysis – Identifying cybersecurity gaps in existing processes and aligning them with ISO 21434 requirements.
- Implementation Support – Assisting in the development and integration of secure coding practices and cybersecurity controls.
- Process Immersion – Ensuring a structured Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) to align with both ISO/SAE 21434 and UN R155 regulatory requirements.
- Assessment & Certification – Facilitating an efficient, smooth certification process validated by an independent certifying organization.
